Playing politics with paper
Although known as a political paper artist and book sculptor, I work with multiple media, including glass, wood, ink, and oils.
Always keen to try new techniques, in recent years I’ve added letterpress, sign-writing, and glass-gilding to my skill set.
I like the images I create to subvert norms, both through my ideas and materials. Perhaps because of this, my fine art has been exhibited at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy, and has been admired by the Pulitzer-winning art critic, Jerry Saltz.
Extensive press coverage on my art has appeared across the world, including on The BBC, The Guardian, The Week and The Sunday Times.
I have been shortlisted in the World Illustration Awards twice and have an illustrated book out worldwide called Papercut This Book, with another self-illustrated title to be released by Simon & Schuster in 2021.
I'm an instructor in book sculpture at New York's Center for Book Arts and do occasional paper-art classes one-to-one or for groups at various venues, including The Ace Hotel and the Lower East Side Girls' Club.
