The World Illustration Awards has honoured me with a place on the shortlist in the 2016 competition. The work they chose was my papercut artwork, Sea Sick, which was previously selected for display at the Royal Scottish Academy of Art. The RSA has selected my work, Sea Sick, for its prestigious Open Exhibition. The work – a comment on government inaction on refugees drowning in the Mediterranean – is on display in the academy’s main hall until Feb 14, 2016. It’s such an honor to be selected for the Royal Scottish Academy’s Open Exhibition, as the competition is so fierce. I wasn’t sure if such an overtly political work would go down well with the judges, but I’m delighted it was seen as a worthy addition. T
