I'm delighted to announce that I've been shortlisted in the prestigious World Illustration Awards.
My paper collage, Travel By Life Raft, was selected from a record 3,300 entries from 75 different countries, and will be shown at Somerset House in London in June.
The work is the second in a series of three pastiches of Tom Purvis's LNER posters of the 1930s.
In these, bright young things are shown frolicking at the English seaside, but for my works, I have chosen to replace them with refugees.
In Travel By Life Raft, instead of building a sandcastle, children are seen picking through a pile of lifejackets as the lifeless body of Aylan Kurdi lies in the foreground.
I have also subverted the cheery text of the original posters to highlight the refugees' plight.
