A few years ago I was asked to create a papercut of the legendary Hotel des Artistes in New York for a friend of mine who lives there.
The papercut features the stunning wall paintings of 'woodland sprites' created by Howard Chandler Christy, which adorn the restaurant The Leopard at des Artistes, which is part of the iconic building.
Now a high-end apartment block, it retains the glamour of a bygone age. Artist and author, Robert Hudovernik, has written a book on des Artistes and asked if he could use a picture of my papercut to illustrate the last page.
